Rookie Laverty has 'cause for optimism'

MotoGP rookie Eugene Laverty has cause for optimism after wrapping up the second Sepang test, even if the Drive M7 Aspar Honda rider didn't improve his lap time as much as he had hoped. The Northern Ireland rider, who has made the switch to the premier class from World Superbikes, was 23rd fastest on the combined times, one place behind fellow newcomer and Honda rider Jack Miller. Laverty, whose best time on the RC213V-RS was 2m 01.815s, said: “We didn't manage to improve the lap time as much today as we had hoped but we have made progress with the set-up of the bike.
