Lorenzo "came very close" to leaving Yamaha
Two-time MotoGP world champion Jorge Lorenzo admitted he "came very close" to leaving Yamaha before renewing his deal with the Japanese squad. The Spanish driver, world champion in 2010 and 2012, was linked with a move to Ducati before he extended his contract with Yamaha last year. Lorenzo, who has only raced for Yamaha in MotoGP, has a deal with the team until the end of the 2016 season. But the 28-year-old says it would be his dream to end his career at the Japanese squad.
