Laverty rates Aprilia race seat chances as slim

Michael Laverty has played down his chances of racing for Aprilia in MotoGP at Indianapolis, paving the way for Stefan Bradl to secure the vacant race seat for the remainder of the 2015 season. The former PBM MotoGP rider acted as stand in for Aprilia in Germany after Marco Melandri departed from the Italian manufacturer just days before the action began at Sachsenring. After finishing 20th in Germany Laverty had been eyeing the race seat for the rest of the year and compete alongside his MCE British Superbike commitments with Tyco BMW.
