Movistar Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo set the pace in the second MotoGP free practice session at Silverstone, and a 2’02.338 was good enough to place him P1 on the time-sheets. Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez did improve on his best time from FP1 by nearly one second, but it was not enough to displace Lorenzo. Monster Yamaha’s Bradley Smith had a stellar free practice outing and with 15 minutes left lapped a 2’02.531 to go third fastest, shaving two seconds off his best lap set this morning.
