Marquez back on pole in Argentina

With the sun shining down on the Argentine circuit, Marquez picked up where he left off in FP4 as he hit the front in Q2. A 1:38.203 put the World Champion 0.282s up on Jorge Lorenzo while Cal Crutchlow joined them on the provisional front row. Immediately back into the pits, Marquez leapt from his No 1 bike onto the spare and headed back out for a second run. Aleix Espargaro, quickest in both Friday's sessions on board his Suzuki GSX-RR, opted for a similar strategy. The call paid off for both riders as Marquez upped his pace to a 1:37.873 while Espargaro, using the softer option tyre, improved to second place, 0.443s down.
