Danny Kent oozed confidence as his timing and pace saw him set a new lap record of 1m 56.615s with five minutes remaining, a time which remained unchallenged as the chequered flag brought qualifying to an end. The Leopard racing rider had only six laps under his belt as he played a waiting game, initially planning to go out and benefit from a tow to gain the time the British racer had been losing in the final sector.
