Moto3 Mugello: Confident Kent in control for record pole

Danny Kent oozed confidence as his timing and pace saw him set a new lap record of 1m 56.615s with five minutes remaining, a time which remained unchallenged as the chequered flag brought qualifying to an end. The Leopard racing rider had only six laps under his belt as he played a waiting game, initially planning to go out and benefit from a tow to gain the time the British racer had been losing in the final sector. He abandoned that plan and placed his Honda on pole with ease as he rode alone, giving a master-class on how to ride the iconic Italian track.
