Record lap puts Pedrosa on top at Assen

Fresh from his first podium of the 2015 MotoGP season, Dani Pedrosa continued his upward trajectory by leading day one of the Dutch TT. Pedrosa, who missed three of this year's seven races after heading for complicated arm pump surgery after Qatar, kicked off his Assen weekend with a close third place in FP1, behind Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez. Riding at a circuit where he claimed his very first grand prix win in 2002, the Repsol Honda star then moved to the top of the afternoon session with a new lap record of 1m 33.430s.
