Honda claims Rossi “took advantage” of last-corner collision

Honda and Marc Marquez have claimed foul over Valentino Rossi’s shortcut at the final corner of the Assen MotoGP round on Saturday, stating that he took advantage to win the race. Rossi and Marquez had fought out an epic duel around the Assen TT circuit, with Rossi looking to have the race won with three laps to go when Marquez made a mistake at the chicane. But Marquez came back at him on the final lap, and surged up Rossi's inside at the final sequence of corners. They made contact, and Rossi rode through the gravel after cutting-out the left-hand element of the chicane, crossing the finish line 1.2s in front of Marquez.
