Marquez leads Lorenzo in first practice
Marc Marquez dominated Friday's opening practice session for the British MotoGP to finish 0.388s ahead of Jorge Lorenzo. On a brisk cold Friday morning at the Silverstone circuit, Lorenzo was the first rider out but struggled for early pace. Marquez had no such troubles and was quick out of the blocks. A 2:05.179 to start things off was lowered to a 2:03.829 on board his RC213. Dani Pedrosa slotted into second place, 0.882s down, with Lorenzo third. Laying down more laps the Yamaha rider, who is leading the riders' championship by virtue of his five wins to Valentino Rossi's three, improved to second, 0.269s off Marquez's pace.
