Rossi ‘improves’ during Jerez test

MotoGP Championship leader Valentino Rossi extracted more speed from his Movistar Yamaha while working on set-up at Monday's official post-race Jerez test. Rossi set the second fastest lap of the day, just 0.042s behind Yamaha team-mate and Sunday's race winner Jorge Lorenzo. The Italian lapped 0.678s under his best race time and was particular pleased to have also beaten his qualifying time. “This testing day was positive,” Rossi began. “We didn't have many things to try, just some small detail of set-up.
